God’s ways are narrow. The bible says the path to true life is narrow. The narrow way is full of suffering and dying to self. But is the road that leads to eventual blessings and joy. Matthew 7:13 says “”Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” See John 14:6 for more info.
I have a quote on my bulletin board by Beverly Sills that says “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”
We live in a “microwave” culture. (Get things fast/easy – like the microwave concept.) God’s ways are usually not that simple. His ways often include hardships, suffering, pain, endurance, and of course, trust, belief, and faith.
The NLT says in Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.“ The promises God makes in the bible are to be obtained by faith. And often times great faith comes by enduring great trials.
