Much of my spiritual growth in this journey was due to the school-room of suffering. No one likes to suffer but God places a high value on suffering. His Son suffered – so in order to become more like Christ – we must go through suffering as well. One of the highest honors in this life is when you suffer for taking a stand for the gospel and the truth about God’s Word. God watches over every event in our lives. If you are going through a trial with much suffering today, and you are following the Lord, here is a passage to encourage you. 1 PETER 4:12-13 from the bible says “ Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” The book of James says to “count it all joy” when you face trials. This must be done by faith and with faith. Trust God in your suffering. Embrace it. Let it mold you into the image of His Son. If you should ever happen to encounter “Good Friday” in the pathway of your life – remember it is “darkest before dawn”. Good Friday first followed by Easter Sunday.
