Because of the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, each person needs to be rescued. John 3:17 says “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” I was rescued in October 1992. I thought if my good works out weighed the bad things I had did in my life, that I would have earned my way into heaven. I also thought that I was part of the “right” religion. Religion can’t save nor can good works. If these things did save, or get a person into heaven, then why did Jesus come to earth to die on a cross for the sins of mankind? His payment on the cross was a gift. The gift must be received by faith. Here is a powerful verse: For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13. Have you been rescued? Call on the name of the Lord. God loves you and wants to take you to heaven at the end of your journey.
