- Life is a gift. No one made a choice to be born into this world. Your first breathe – your first heartbeat -LIFE- was a gift from God. He also offers another gift. The gift of eternal life. The opportunity to be in heaven with Him forever! John 3:16 (NKJV) says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.“ Whoever admits that they can’t save themselves from their own sin struggles, and turns to Christ alone to be rescued, can be saved for all eternity. Romans 6:23 (NKJV) says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The Lord offers salvation as a gift. It can’t be earned by doing good works. For the first 26 years of my life I believed if my good works outweighed my bad works – that I would go to heaven when I died. But if that were the case, the question is, how many good works would I need to do in order to get to heaven? What is the number? The truth is – there is no number. What HE DID on the cross was offered to each person as a free gift. The blood of Christ paid for the sins of the world. That is the good news for today! I thank God He showed me the truth at age 26!
